The SUS-CIT project or the towns of tomorrow, today
In 2002 already, the Walloon region launched its "Sustainable Cities" initiative; For some dozen Walloon communities, this meant developing a common approach for the implementation of the "Urban Agenda 21" project. Following this initiative, five Walloon towns decided to form a transnational network to pursue and intensify transfers of knowledge in this area, this time at the European level. From this idea sprung the SUS-CIT project for Sustainable Cities.
Developed by its five municipalities and the Walloon Region with five other French and German partners in the framework of the European Interreg programme, SUS-CIT has one main objective: develop the towns of tomorrow through a shared approach to town planning and sustainable urban development
